2022 Itinerary

The tour starts in Anchorage downtown and as soon as you depart from Anchorage you immediately experience the magnificent beauty of the scenic drive along the Turnagain Arm on the Seward Highway. You will make a couple of stops to capture the scenic Alaska’s landscape and of course the opportunity to take your selfie !

The center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of the Alaska’s wildlife with a conservation approach, doing research and education for the care of the Animals in its 200 acres. This body of land provides large natural habitats, where the animals con grow or be rehabilitated whether the animal is an orphan or and injured one.
Animals at the center include: Wolves, Grizzly bears, black bears, moose, elk, Sitka black tail deer, muskox, caribou, wood bison, red foxes, porcupine, Lynxes, bald eagles, owls, and coyotes.

 Animals that are unable to be released or survive in the wild are given refuge in the center’s spacious habitats.  Here people can safely get close, observe and photograph some of Alaska’s largest land animals, including moose, bison, elk, deer, caribou, bears muskox, small mammals and birds of prey.  During spring and summer, visitors can often witness the rehabilitation of orphaned baby animals of various species

After the visit through the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, the next top is Girdwood, a picturesque and charm mining town that became a resort town in the valley of the Chugach mountains. We will drive through town and stop for lunch at a favorite local eatery, then we will ride the Alyeska resort tram for about 4 to 5 minutes up to the Chugach Mountains to enjoy and photograph the panoramic views of the Turnagain arm and the surrounding mountains.   After enjoying the amazing Girdwood landscape, we drive back and return to Anchorage with the opportunity to admire again the breath-taking views of the Turnagain Arm.  Allow up to 5—6 hours round trip from Anchorage for this tour.
