The Alaska Explorer Escorted Tour is a terrific land-only tour or create an incredible cruise tour program by adding this tour to a southbound cruise sailing. ! Tour can be modified to include enhanced meal plan and align with a cruise sailing from Whittier or Seward.

Day 1

Imagine yourself stepping off the plane into the heart of Alaska, greeted by the warmth of Fairbanks, the Alaska’s Golden Heart City. From the moment you arrive, your adventure begins. Allow the convenience of the hotel’s courtesy shuttle to whisk you away, or choose a transfer service to suit your needs. As you settle in for your first night, you can feel the excitement building for the journey ahead.

Day 2

Wake up to a delightful breakfast that fuels your anticipation for the day’s discoveries. Dive into Alaska’s rich history with a sightseeing tour that unveils the transformative impact of the gold rush on the state’s interior. Marvel at the treasures of the Museum of the North, and take advantage of free time to shop, stroll, or savor local cuisine. But the real thrill awaits on the Chena River, where you’ll board a classic sternwheeler and cruise through the stunning scenery. And as evening falls, consider to treat yourself to an authentic salmon bake, a taste of Alaskan tradition that will leave your palate yearning for more? Spend another night in Fairbanks:

Day 3

After a hearty breakfast, travel by deluxe dome rail to the Denali National Park. . This afternoon, enjoy an interpretative hike along Otto Lake at the Denali Discovery Center followed by a reception with a “Welcome to Denali” talk giving you a glimpse of what will be seen on your park tour. Whether you join complimentary park service activities or embark on optional tours, the beauty of Denali will captivate you. As you rest in Denali overnight, you’ll feel the call of the wild in every breath.

Day 4

Begin with breakfast, then embark on the Tundra Wilderness Tour, a journey deep into Denali’s vast expanse. Search for bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep, all while enjoying the insights of a narrated tour. The adventure offers not just breathtaking views, but also a deeper understanding of the flora and fauna that thrive in this spectacular region. Even as you snack on the bus, the wonders of Denali surround you. And though early May and September might shorten the tour due to road conditions, the experience remains unforgettable. Denali overnight.

Day 5

begins with a breakfast before you transfer to board a deluxe motorcoach for a scenic journey south to Talkeetna. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic Denali, formerly known as Mt. Denali, or catch a glimpse of black bears along the Susitna River. Upon reaching Talkeetna, there will be time on own to explore. Later continue your scenic journey to Anchorage by deluxe motorcoach. The day concludes with a special closing night dinner, where you can share stories and memories of your Alaskan adventure with fellow travellers. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 6

Enjoy one last breakfast as you reflect on the incredible experiences of the past days. Your adventure concludes with a convenient hotel courtesy shuttle transfer to the airport or for addend convenience arrange for a transfer to the Airport.

Primary Hotel Listing

As our Guaranteed Departures are very popular, it is necessary to have multiple hotels at each location:

  • Fairbanks – Rivers Edge Cottages or similar
    Denali – Grizzly Bear or similar
  • Anchorage – SpringHill Suites University Lake, or similar
  • Hotels are confirmed at 30 days prior to the start of the tour and documents for tour are forwarded electronically at that time.

EXTENTION:

Seward Day Cruise Extension with Rail. Add on an additional day of adventure at the end of the Alaska Explorer tour. Include a scenic Dome Rail journey to Seward then cruise the pristine waters of Resurrection Bay looking for marine wildlife and tide water glaciers aboard the Kenai Fjords National Park day boat cruise. Add on price is available at time of booking.

Day 6 Add On:

Early this morning you will be transferred to the Anchorage Rail Depot where you will board a deluxe dome railcar for a scenic train journey along the coast of the Turnagain arm south to the coastal community of Seward. Breakfast is included on board. Upon arrival into Seward, you will be transferred to the Seward Small Boat Harbor where you will board a glacier and wildlife cruise and travel through the majestic Kenai Fjords National Park. Explore the face of a glacier and keep your eyes open for seals, sea lions, otters, whales, eagles and more. Lunch will be included on board. Upon your return to Seward, board your deluxe motorcoach for a scenic transfer to Anchorage. Upon arrival into Anchorage (ETA 9:30PM) it will be time to say goodbye to Alaska as you are transferred to the Anchorage Airport for your flight.
